How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I started at 12 stone 2 pounds and I’m now 8 stone, so I’ve lost just over 4 stone in total. It took me around 11 months to reach my goal.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

When I turned 40, I had a health check with my GP and was told I needed to lose some weight. Instead, over the next couple of years, I actually gained more, and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t seem to stop it. I didn’t feel like myself anymore - both physically and mentally - and I knew I needed to make a real change.

After speaking with my GP and struggling to lose weight through diet and exercise alone, I decided to look into Mounjaro after reading about how it helps regulate appetite and blood sugar. Another key reason was my health - I’d previously had an operation to help with bladder weakness after having children, and when I was at my heaviest, I noticed the issue starting to return. That was a big wake-up call for me.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I’ve always had to watch my weight, but after 40 it became much harder to control. I was doing what had always worked before, but the scales just kept creeping up.

Yes - so many! My energy levels and confidence are back, and my bladder weakness has completely disappeared. I was told I might need further surgery before, but I no longer do. I feel much lighter, both physically and emotionally - it's been life-changing.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

The hardest part was staying consistent through birthdays, Christmas, and social events - but I managed to enjoy those occasions without going overboard. Any notable milestones to report?

Reaching a healthy BMI for the first time in years was a huge milestone. Being able to wear clothes I hadn’t fit into since before having children has been such a great feeling.
