How much weight have you lost and how long did it take?

I’ve lost 6st 4lbs88lbs40kg since April 2022.

What prompted your decision to lose weight?

I found myself saying no to social invitations because I didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. I was also facing serious health issues like PCOS flare-ups, knee dislocations, and becoming short of breath just by climbing stairs. I realised that I had to make a change when I started avoiding photos – I couldn’t bear to see myself in them. I knew it was time to invest in my health, not just physically but mentally as well.

How did you hear about Nutracheck?

A friend recommended Nutracheck to me, and I decided to try the free version. It wasn’t long before I saw the value in tracking my food and macros so I started to pay for the subscription. I didn’t use it as a way to restrict myself, but rather as an educational tool. It helped me understand what my body needs and how to fuel it properly based on my unique lifestyle and goals.

Has your weight stayed fairly consistent over the years, or have you always had to manage it?

I’ve been able to maintain my weight loss for almost two years now, which feels amazing. Along with maintaining my weight, I’ve also set new fitness goals. Nutracheck has helped me with muscle growth, developing abs, increasing strength, and focusing on areas like my glutes. It’s been a transformative journey that goes beyond just weight loss.

Have you experienced any health improvements?

Absolutely. One of the most significant improvements is that my hormones are fully balanced now, and I’ve been able to manage my PCOS much better. The extra weight loss has had a positive effect on my knees – no more dislocations! I can now move more freely, and I no longer get winded going up the stairs. It’s amazing how much better I feel overall.

How easy was it to fit the changes you made into your lifestyle?

The changes weren’t drastic, so they were easy to integrate into my daily life. I focused on small, manageable adjustments that I could sustain long-term, rather than overwhelming myself with a complete overhaul. Over time, eating well and exercising became a part of my routine, and it’s no longer a chore – it’s just a way of life.

What was the most difficult thing about your weight-loss journey?

The hardest part for me was the mindset shift. Physically, the weight was coming off, but it took a while for my brain to catch up with the changes. When I looked in the mirror, I still saw the old version of myself. I also struggled with going from a size 20 to something smaller – mentally, it was hard to adjust. But I learned that success isn’t linear. It’s about taking one step at a time and celebrating progress, no matter how small.

How do you feel now compared to before?

I feel incredible, confident and beautiful. It’s not that I wasn’t beautiful before, but now I feel more like me. I’ve found a style that aligns with my personality and fitness journey, and it’s empowering. Mentally, I feel so much clearer and stronger. I go to the gym because it makes me feel good, and fuelling my body with the right foods has become a part of my self-care routine. I’ve never felt more sexy and feminine in my life.

Any notable milestones to report?

One of the biggest milestones for me was being able to do pull-ups and push-ups. Both of those were huge challenges when I started my fitness journey, and I’m so proud of the progress I’ve made. Tracking my food has really allowed me to fuel my body for strength and growth, and it’s been amazing to see what I’m capable of when I properly fuel myself.

What 3 tips would you give to anyone who has weight to lose?

  1. Don’t rush it – enjoy the journey. There’s no need to hurry. Celebrate the little wins along the way.
  2. Remember that you are beautiful and worthy at every stage of the journey. It’s easy to get fixated on the end goal, but you are valuable, no matter where you are on your path.
  3. Tracking doesn’t have to be restrictive or controlling. Use it as a way to learn more about your body’s needs. Don’t be afraid to track indulgence days – they’re part of life and are important for balance and enjoyment!
