Until I lost my 10 stones with Nutracheck, I had usually been very overweight. In my late teens and twenties I played a lot of sport, and I wasn't quite so heavy, but even then I was always at least 15 stones (and, no, it wasn't muscle!)

Nowadays I weigh around 13 stones, which works well with my 6'1" frame, but in my mind I am still a fairly chunky person - because that's how I was for over 60 years. So three interesting little experiences in the last couple of weeks surprised me, but in a very good way...

A couple of weeks ago we were on a guided tour of a tourist attraction, and the guide said there was a path along the river to another attraction. She said it was four miles, looked at me, and said "but you'll be OK, you look pretty fit" (preen!)

Then last week I went to the doctor, and she took my blood pressure. That was fine, but I mentioned my pulse, which I had been thinking was very low - it's almost always about 52. The doctor said "that just shows that you are very fit" (preen, preen!)

But this Tuesday was the best. We were eating out, and had had a starter and a main course. The waitress asked if we wanted a dessert, and I was wondering whether I would have one, figuring out how many calories it would be (all that usual dieting stuff!). The waitress said "of course you can have one - you're thin!" (preen, preen, preen!!)

For me these three experiences were, at the ripe old age of 63, new ground. I am not a vain person, but to have three comments about how I looked fit and lean was really great. And I was truly amazed to be called 'thin'. I suppose it just underlines how much the 'new me' means to me, and makes me even more determined than ever not to let any of those inevitable little slips turn into a slide.

Steve lost a massive 10st with Nutracheck. He now regularly writes about how he maintains his weight loss.
